Within a half hour, Karmira and Ezio were fitted with their rentals, Ezio with a snowboard and Karmira with skiis and poles. Karmira came out of the girls' changing room in thick red sweater embroidered with a black sun. She tossed their shoes, her light jacket and knitted gloves in the locker along with the backpack and locked the locker, hiding the key in her zipper pocket. She fitted the passes on Ezio's jacket and her glove.
"Now," she pulled her hat on, "we are ready to go." She started lumbering outside in her ski boots. "These... always feel so weird at first."

Ezio followed, holding the board over his shoulder, "So what exactly are we going to do?"

"We are soaring over the snow," she exclaimed, setting her skiis down. She stabbed the poles into the ground and fit her boat into the ski. The other one snapped in place easier. "Now, darling, we separate to learn from the teachers here. You go over there but I stay here. I'll see you in twenty minutes over at the beginning hill, Mud Slide." She pointed to the left. "Good luck and don't be afraid to fall." She kissed his cheek. Picking up her poles, she slid down a bit, meeting with a growing group of beginner skiers.

Ezio stared after her before looking around and joining the other novice snowboarders.

After her lesson, Karmira skied over to MudSlide, the beginning hill. "Why do they always have such encouraging names for the first hill," she commented aloud, adjusting her hat.

Ezio walked over to join her and planted the tip of the board into the snow, leaning against it and looking very much like the models you would see in the ski magazines and ads.

Karmira heard the thud and turned around, a moment later leaning against her poles and laughing. She straightened and pulled out her camera from its case. She snapped a pic, still chuckling. "Normal people say something when they come up," she teased, "not pose."

Ezio snickered, and sets the board flat against the ground, strapping it to his boots, "Ready when you are~"

She chuckled. "So it would seem." She placed her poles on the side with some others since she didn't need them for this hill and entered the line to get the rope to the top. "Who will fall first, I wonder," she mused, challengingly, grabbing ahold. The rope started hauling them up the incline.

"Not me, certainly~"Ezio said with a smirk, following her lead and grabbing the rope.

"We shall see," Karmira winked, sliding out of the rope's lift halfway up the incline.

Ezio blinked and followed.

Karmira noticed his questioning look. "I don't have the confidence to go all the way up the first time," she explained with a slight blush of embarrassment, covered by her rosy complexion from the chill. She shook her head and adjusted her gloves. "First one to fall gets to order the other around once," she called out and started sliding down.

Ezio chuckled and started sliding down the slope too, bending his knees and leaning onto the slight curves.

Karmira started sliding at a very slow pace, keeping her pie shape stable, but she soon didn't like that. Taking a breath, she slowly broke her pie and started flying down. "No, nooo, not thattt fasttt," she muttered, nearly panicking. She bent her knees towards each other and barely made the pie before stopping. "Okay, medium speed," she breathed.
