She couldn't help but stare at the pale skin, which shined so brightly in the moonlight. She averted her eyes and chose to look at her feet. Ulquiorra came closer.

Ulquiorra stopped right beside Keome, before falling backwards into the sand and staring up at the sky, jacket still clutched loosely in his right hand.

She gave a small gasp as he fell. Ichigo stepped back slightly. Keome walked beside him and looked over. "You alright?" She asked.

She paused. "Isn't it a festival of some sort? It's for two star-crossed lovers who can only be together on a certain day, I think."

Indeed...it is the Festival of Stars that is celebrated on July or August 7th...would you like to hear more about it?

"Sure." She sat down beside him, propping herself onto her elbows. "Go on."

Ulquiorra raised a hand pointing a north of the milky way, "See that star? It is called Vega, or Orihime..." He moved his hand, pointing to a star, barely south of the milky way, "And that one, is Altair, or Hikoboshi..."

"Aren't those supposed to be the two lovers?" She asked. "But the milky way is in between them. How sad."

"Yes...they are lovers. What happened was, Hikoboshi, the cow herder, and Orihime, the weaving princess, met, and fell in love. Orihime's father approved of the marriage, and so, they were married." Ulquiorra explained, staring up at the milky way.

"Then how did they become distanced?" She asked, looking up at Orihime. Her heart ached for the two lovers to not be able to see each other except for one day.

"After they married, the loved, too much, and not wisely. They negleted their work. Orihime was not weaving the fabrics for the gods anymore, and Hikoboshi let his cattle wander all over the milky way," Ulquiorra said, "Angry, Orihime's father seperated them across the milky way for all eternity, never too see each other again."

Keome looked up. "Well...I guess thats the message. To love, but remember everything else." She said. "I still feel bad for them though."

"The story is not over..." Ulquiorra said. "Orihime's father was compassionate...he sensed his daughters distress, and allowed to lovers to meet, once a year. However...if it happened to rain that day, then the celesial river would become too wide for the magpies to make a bridge, and the lovers would have to wait another year..."
Ulquiorra closed his eyes, "And yes, you are correct...that is the moral of the story."

"How fortunate. An interesting story, I must say. Where do you learn all these things?" She asked him, turning to face him.
