"No, but we have often spent nights pondering such things, and I have," he held up his wine glass, "been quieter these past months."

"Indeed you have." She nodded, swirling her wine around in her glass. "Though I don't expect to have to ask you to tell me...if there is something you wish to share, you usually do. Do you not?"

Kaname chuckled. "At least with you I do." He swirled his wine glass and took a deep drink.

She nodded, a sincere expression taking to her features. "And for that...I am grateful."

Kaname put his wineglass down. "As am I, and this small dinner can never represent even close to enough of mine. Friendship is something much more powerful than I had first suspected."

"Indeed. You never really realize it until it touches you personally. I never thought I would need anything in this world after--" She sighed. "This dinner is a much larger token than you give it credit for." She smiled.

"I do." She nodded once, matter of factly, then continued on her meal, commenting about how delicious each piece was and how all the separate items seemed to compliment each other in each bite.

Kaname chuckled and listened quietly as he ate his own meal, amused by how animated her compliments were. A genuine smile graced his lips as a content air settled over the table.

She set down her utensils and let out a light breath. "Getting full. So good though...I don't want to waste any of it."

"If you wish to, you can take the rest home for later," Kaname suggested, finishing his lamb. He stuck the sprig of mint in between his teeth.

"I think I will." She smiled. "Now, what's the rest of this surprise?" She asked, her curiosity resurfacing, regardless of how full she was.

Kaname bowed and slid over to the darkness. In an instant moonlight shone on the table as if it was full moon from two mirrors propped in the branches of the trees. Kaname leapt down and smiled. "Surprise enough, Kira?" he asked quietly.

"You found the other mirrors?!" She exclaimed, looking at what he'd uncovered closely. She stuck her hand into the moonlight, wiggling her fingers under it.

"I did," he responded, voice low. "One hid inside the statue that I continued to watch. The other had been embraced by the trees. Only because I found myself here in a pensive mood often do I believe I found them before you."
