At that comment she pulled back, her face returning to its former blank expression. "I don't know that person." She said as she stood and turned her back to him admiring the lake, just at it's edge.

Sitting up, he picked a flower and went over to her. Wrapping his arms around her shoulders from behind he presented her the flower. "Do you want to know her again?"

Though the flower was just a simple wildflower, she saw in his hands a silver rose. Closing her eyes, she shook her head, but oddly, did not resist his light embrace. Taking the simple flower, she looked at it carefully. "I'm not sure I can. Tell me...if you can never find this person again...will you mourn her?"

"No, I will not mourn her...Instead I will forever cherish her memory. Because whether I can find her again or not, I know she will always be there. And that brings me some peace of heart" he replied to her question.

"I see..." Arela said simply, her mind swimming with various thoughts and scenarios.

He didn't know how she was going to react but he did it anyway. He held her tighter as he rested his head on her shoulder. Only a moment...and it would be enough for him.

Her mind was so deep in thought, she didn't feel him tighten his embrace, yet she realized it as he set his head on her shoulder. She tensed up. She didn't move, or resist, and yet...she had no idea how to take this....

Gin profited from the fact that she didn't push him off to spend some more time close to her like that, his head resting peacefully on her shoulder as he held her in his arms.

Arela shifted and pulled away. "When you see me, you just see her, don't you?"

"I called you by your name, did I not?" he said with a soft smile from behind her.

She looked to the right for a moment, then back at the flower in her hand. Silver rose... "That doesn't matter. This might be a simple flower, and yet I see a rose!" She snapped, throwing it into the water. "If I really am this person who was so important, why does she torment me with fragmented pieces of memory?!"

"Because you were once her...that existence still lingers inside of you" he said, walking closer to her once more. "But you mustn't be tormented by those memories. Instead..." he said, taking out a silver rose from inside his haori and giving it to her. "...you could use them as a bridge to create new ones."

She looked at the rose, taking it with hesitation. She wondered if this too was a simple flower, and if her mind was yet again making her see things. "Create...new ones..." She repeated, lifting the flower to her nose and taking in it's scent. Another tear streamed down her cheek without her permission... "It's a rose...." She stated, more to herself.

Gin nodded as he looked at her with a warm smile on his face. "Yes, it is. A silver rose out of my garden just for you" he said.

Closing her eyes, she saw him deliver a bouquet of roses to her, matching this one in beauty. She heard him explaining just how he grew these roses with a silver hue. "It's painful." She admitted, letting her hand with the rose fall to her side as she stepped out onto the lake, walking along it's surface to the center.
