A large plume of smoke rose from the chimney of the huge cabin at the foot of the ski hill. Zooming black dots covered the hill behind it and frenzied calls mixed with the light breeze and whirring of the lifts. The smell of hot chocolate mingling with wood smoke hit Karmira's face as soon as she got off the bus.
She brushed her ponytail out of her face at a blast of icy wind from the azure sky. "It's a perfect day," she called out, pulling on her wool gloves.

Ezio stepped off the bus behind her, dressed in light blue jeans and a white ski jacket, the hood pulled up out of habit. He boots crunched in the snow as he walked towards her, grumbling about giant, metal wagons that ran without horses, "Its a cold day..." He kicked at the snow.

Karmira chuckled and kissed his cheek. "If it wasn't cold, you wouldn't get to try this. Besides, the clear days are the best." She accepted her backpack from the driver and tossed it over one shoulder. "Come on, rogue, time for a small leap of faith." Karmira caught his hand and pulled him out of the crowd and around the cars, looking up at the white mountain withe a soft smile. Her rosy cheeks could be blamed on the frosty air, not the sexy man. Ezio dressed in modern clothes too well.

Ezio looked around at all the cars, "There is more of the horseless wagons? And on such a large scale, with so many varieties....incredible..." His eye caught a flashy red one and he pulled away from her to go look at it.

Karmira laughed and followed him. "You are like a kid in toy shop. It's no surprise that you were the one trying out Da Vinci's inventions."

Ezio peered into the window, seeing sleek black and red leather seats and automatic transmission, along with a little stallion crest on the steering wheel, "My god, what is this?" He asked, instantly in love with the car.

Karmira hid her wide smile behind a glove. "That's a ferrari, one of the most expensive cars around." She chuckled, "and one of the few I can identify."

"Sounds italiano..." Ezio murmured, stepping back to look at it, "I like it <3"

"Of course you do," she grinned, "but then that is also the point of a nearly non-accessible car, too." She tilted her head. "The person driving it may brag now but may curse it later. I prefer a good ol' pickup."

"Cosa?" Ezio tilted his head at her, stuffing his hands on the pockets of his jeans for warmth.

"The road up here is not always easy to drive, and Ferraris aren't built for snow. Most likely, it will get towed soon."

Ezio laughed, and started walking back towards the cabin.

Karmira followed. "Don't get too far ahead. I have the passes."

Smile growing, she took it and leaned in to whisper, "Don't trip on the ice on walkway."
