Finally, the mist cleared and a soft darkness descended on them once more. They were a few feet from the end of a cliff, its precipice covered in creeping vines of dark blue and black roses. The thorns were a midnight bluish black. The roar of water soared in their ears from a waterfall of stone.

Kira blinked a few times to adjust her vision again, pushing away from him and walking to the edge, slowly leaning to look over the edge. "A-mazing..." She said in a slightly breathless tone.

Kaname nodded. "Indeed they are but quite perilous. They are one of the few poisonous roses." He walked over to her side and looked over, viewing how the cliff cut off into a black drop half hidden by the mist.

She stared down, into the abyss. "The mist seems to cover up the immanent death promised by a fall from here...doesn't it?"

"Yes, it does," he murmured and turned. "I'm surprised that you haven't commented on the waterfall, though maybe the roses have seduced you." He walked along the rim of the cliff on a broader path. Ahead of Kaname, a cave yawned.

"Not only the roses seduce me, but their masters, I'm afraid." She revealed with a hint of a smirk. Following him, she indeed took in what he spoke of with great wonder, her curiosity building at the approaching cavern.

Kaname chuckled lightly. "I am afraid I have no cure for that kind of seduction," he murmured, voice soft. They entered a cavern lit by dripping stalactites casting ghostly grey light on the nearly white stone. Pleasantly warm, the floor was rocky and bumpy but for a thin smoothed out section in the center. A few feet ahead, Kaname turned his head. "Be careful of the stalagmites. There are some sharp ones if you stray off the beaten rock."

"I wouldn't take any cure for it anyway~" Kira laughed quietly, stepping carefully behind him. "I won't stray...I'll follow your lead." She stated sincerely, just before sliding a bit and turning bright red. "After, I keep my footing..." >//> She said, slightly embarrassed.

Kaname chuckled and caught her by the elbow. With a slight smirk, he commented, "I don't think you need to entertain me by falling on your face, Lady Kira." He stepped closer to give her more to lean on and leaned over to whisper in her ear. "The sand and salt on the path is a bit slippery, but you will get used to it soon."

"...so I noticed..." She mumbled, still embarrassed. Ninja weren't supposed to be ungraceful. "Where uh...does this lead?" She asked, trying to change the flow of conversation.

Kaname smirked. "Have you given up and are giving in to your curiosity, Demoness?" he inquired, voice laced with humor.

"Perhaps. Or perhaps I was trying to fool the location out of you." She smirked.

Kaname chuckled quietly, "Attempt failed, Little Demon." He moved on down the trail, still holding on Kira's arm.

"Lesson learned." She accepted comically. "No need to worry. I've found my footing." She insisted, not wanting to be any trouble.

Kaname smiled softly, "If you insist on being that strong even here, then I will let you go," he replied and released his hand from her arm, taking the lead once more.
