Kita walked in the empty room holding her favorite book of Poetry. She found a comfortable chair and took a seat. Getting adjusted in her seat she finally settled in and opened the pages to her book. Softly she read aloud to herself...
Evening Star
'Twas noontide of summer, And mid-time of night; And stars, in their orbits, Shone pale, thro' the light Of the brighter, cold moon, 'Mid planets her slaves, Herself in the Heavens, Her beam on the waves. I gazed awhile On her cold smile; Too cold- too cold for me- There pass'd, as a shroud, A fleecy cloud, And I turned away to thee, Proud Evening Star, In thy glory afar, And dearer thy beam shall be; For joy to my heart Is the proud part Thou bearest in Heaven at night, And more I admire Thy distant fire, Than that colder, lowly light.

Lelouch had walked in while Kita was reading. He stood next to Kira and waved silently. "Wow. That was beautiful, Miss Kita. Great choice."

"The same." Then a thought came to her. "You wouldn't have any poems to share...perhaps?"

Hime sat down quietly. She didn't really care if anyone noticed her; she simply wanted to listen.

Kita turned in her seat slightly looking at Kira and Lelouch, "Thank you. It is Evening Star by Edgar Allan Poe. Here another one Silentium Amoris (The Silence of Love) by Oscar Wilde." Kita replied as she started to read. Kita causally glanced over at Otakuhime as she sat quietly.
As oftentimes the too resplendent sun Hurries the pallid and reluctant moon Back to her sombre cave, ere she hath won A single ballad from the nightingale, So doth thy Beauty make my lips to fail, And all my sweetest singing out of tune.
And as at dawn across the level mead On wings impetuous some wind will come, And with its too harsh kisses break the reed Which was its only instrument of song, So my too stormy passions work me wrong, And for excess of Love my Love is dumb.
But surely unto Thee mine eyes did show Why I am silent, and my lute unstrung; Else it were better we should part, and go, Thou to some lips of sweeter melody, And I to nurse the barren memory Of unkissed kisses, and songs never sung.

"Sweet!" Kira clapped. "I have one for you." She smiled and stood. "It is a poem you are all probably familiar with, but I happen to love it...so I'll just say it anyway."
"A Dream Within a Dream...Edgar Allan Poe:
'And, in parting from you now, Thus much let me avow-- You are not wrong, who deem That my days have been a dream; Yet if hope has flown away In a night, or in a day, In a vision, or in none, Is it therefore the less gone? All that we see or seem Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar Of a surf-tormented shore, And I hold within my hand Grains of the golden sand-- How few! yet how they creep Through my fingers to the deep, While I weep--while I weep! O God! can I not grasp Them with a tighter clasp? O God! can I not save One from the pitiless wave? Is all that we see or seem But a dream within a dream?' "

Lelouch clapped. "Wonderful to both of you." Lelouch thought for a moment. "Me? Have a poem? Well I really just came to listen..."

Kita clapped once Kira was done, "Beautiful, Kira." Kita then turned her attention to Lelouch, "That's fine, Lelouch you can just sit and listen like Hime and Jen. I don't mine and I am sure Kira don't mind either." Kita looked back at Kira with a smile, just then Kita softly exclaimed. "Oh, heres one of my faves from Edgar Allan Poe its called Eldorado. I know this one by heart." Kita took a deep breath and slowly closed her eyes as she recalled from memory.
Gaily bedight, A gallant knight, In sunshine and in shadow, Had journeyed long, Singing a song, In search of Eldorado.
But he grew old- This knight so bold- And o'er his heart a shadow Fell as he found No spot of ground That looked like Eldorado.
And, as his strength Failed him at length, He met a pilgrim shadow- "Shadow," said he, "Where can it be- This land of Eldorado?"
"Over the Mountains of the Moon, Down the Valley of the Shadow, Ride, boldly ride," The shade replied- "If you seek for Eldorado!"

Kita bowed her head to Lelouch and Jen, "Thank you." Kita then turned to Kira. "Do you have another or would you like me to read again?" Kita asked her.
