Oo "Wasn't the fox ahead of us just a moment ago?" she asked, nearly tripping over it as it ran between them from behind. "Do you prefer the fog or the sun?"

Kaname chuckled. "That is how it appeared, but its master quite enjoys fooling her visitors." The fox skipped down the log and led them into a thicket of evergreens. "That is a difficult question. The fog is gentler, yet without sunlight, dawn and dusk would be very dull times."

"Hmmm, that's a good point. I think we need a good mixture of both sunlight AND fog to make the perfect climate. But it's nice to just have a nice, open field of sunlight every now and then. I find the fog and mist to be wonderful to walk in while letting your imagination run wild."

"Very true." He watched the fox disappear under a root, chuckling quietly. "Mist does have a way of sharpening the senses."

"It does," she agreed, smiling as she watched the wild animal vanish. "Foxes have always intrigued me quite a bit."

Kaname assisted Blood over a large root. "If that is so, then you shall be quite entertained by this one."

"I bet I would be," she said as she slid over the root. "Then again, what fox ISN'T entertaining in some way or another?"

He chuckled quietly. "That is one way to put it." The forest was quiet. Only the occasional hiss of insects from the undergrowth broke the stillness.

"What's your favorite animal?" Blood asked curiously and she plodded along behind the pureblood.

"I prefer the raven," Kaname murmured as a mist curled around their shoes. A louder rustle echoed around the greyest trees, and a warm wind slunk by. Suddenly, the fox leapt onto his shoulder from Blood's head.

Blood grew silent as she watched the fox, resting her hand again the cool, damp moss on a high rock as they came to a short rest. She shook her head, laughing quietly to herself as she knelt down to tie her boot. "I prefer the falcon to ravens myself when it comes to birds."

Kaname waited a short distance, petting the fox between his ears. "The falcon is too flashy. He doesn't drift and disappear nor is," the fox bit his finger and leapt off, "something of mixed feelings. Ravens are also loners. A falcon lives near things to prey on. A raven is a survivor." He licked the cut closed.

Blood watched him before nodded, "I think the falcons are beautiful though. Birds of prey have always fascinated me... in fact, they're what inspired me to begin drawing in the first place." She began walking towards him again, watching as the fox scampered off a wee bit. "But that's true about ravens... they rank in my top three favorite birds."

"They are indeed a good inspiration." He continued strolling through the forest at an easy pace. "Nature is full of much to inspire."

"Mhmm," she replied, breaking a small twig of pine needles off of a tree as they passed, breaking some of the needles and smelling them. "It clears your head quite a bit as well..."
