Kita sat in the closest chair to her as she sat waiting for Kaname to start. Once Kaname took his seat she listen to his words if they were the last she would ever hear.

As he began, Kaname's voice was quiet, but it carried throughout the room easily. "Once upon a time, there was a man who wandered from place to place. He didn't have a reason when he left or where he travelled. He only followed his feet. Time had no meaning to him."

Kaname noticed Ushio in the shadows. He chuckled at her polite question. "No, I don't mind. Come and take a seat, Lady Ushio."

Kita turned to the voice of the new arrival. She smiled softly at her and said, "Hello, Ushio. I don't think we have met. I am Kita."

Keome had listened intently between the stack of books separating her and Kaname's sweet voice. Hearing the interruption she knew she could approach them. "Ah, hello. I don't think I've met you. I'm Keome." She smiled at Ushio and extended a hand.

"This is the Night Class library, and Lady Kita has asked me to read a favorite tale." Kaname chuckled. "They asked me for a tour of the grounds, but this is moving quite too leisurely for the typical tour." He turned the page of the tale. "Not that I am complaining."

"You have to slow down and smell the roses...a quick paced tour wouldn't be as entertaining." Kira smiled, coming out from the shelves as well. She stood by the window and waited for the tale to continue.

Kaname chuckled and read on. "He passed through endless towns, and he didn't care to remember their names, for one purpose." Kaname's voice lowered, "To watch roses."

Kita settled back in her in seat and relaxed as she listened to the tail. She wanted to hear everything and the silence of the Library provided just that.

"Ever since he could remember, the man had always felt a pull from roses. Deep, vibrant yellow, rainbow colored, it didn't matter. He couldn't turn away from them. If it was winter, he'd often lay in their bushes. He never was pricked by their thorns. In the spring, he could watch silently as a whole bush bloomed. Summertime, he'd catch the blossoms swaying in the sky from the storms. In the autumn, he'd snip the withered flower and hold it in his hand as if doing this might keep it from dying.
